What it is

The NATO Commercial and Government Entity (NCAGE) code is a five-character entity identifier. It is required for NATO Stock Number (NSN) assignment, for registration in NATO and national supply systems, and for procurement through NSPA. Holding an NCAGE code does not give any right to use NATO branding.

Who handles the request depends on the country. For NATO countries and a defined Tier 2 list, the request is handled by the national codification bureau (NCB); for everyone else NSPA handles it directly. The Tier 2 list includes Ukraine, alongside ARE, ARG, AUS, AUT, BRA, COL, GEO, IND, IDN, ISR, JOR, JPN, KOR, MYS, MAR, NZL, SRB, SGP and QAT.

The request starts in the NCAGE request tool: three mandatory fields on the first step (type of entity, other/priority, country), then a validation link is sent to the person who started it. Once validated, the priority cannot be changed.
